June is here and with that comes hot summer days. I love summer days because even if it’s late in the day the weather is still nice to stay out. One of my priorities has always been for Nathaniel to do outdoor activities especially when the weather is perfect outside. For that reason, I’ve created a list of Top Five Toddler Summer Activities. #SunnyMoments Splash Pads
We love visiting our water park, but whenever we go, we have to go for the day and it requires a little more than just heading out. For that reason, I rather visit our local splash pads where Nathaniel can still have fun with water.
One of my favorite things to do with Nathaniel on my days off, especially during summer is going on toddler-friendly walks/hikes. One of my favorite places to visit is the Hopkins Wilderness Park in Redondo Beach because the hike is not difficult and there’s a pond where Nathaniel gets entertained feeding the ducks and fish. Visit the Farm:
Visiting the farm will have your little one drained. There is so much to do. From learning about animals to picking strawberries, a farm is a place you must take your toddler to this summer.
This is something that we can’t do at our place because we live in an apartment, but I know that I use to love “helping” wash our family car when I was little. It was a great excuse to play with water when my parents didn’t want me to get wet. If you have a backyard, let your little one play and feel that he/she gets to do grown-up things. Keeping our children active outdoors is important, but it’s also important to protect them from the harmful sun rays. I make sure I protect Nathaniel’s skin with the Aveeno® Baby sunscreen whenever we will be out in the sun. Nathaniel sweats very easily and with the Aveeno® Baby Continuous Protection® Sensitive Skin Zinc Oxide Sunscreen SPF 50, I don’t have to worry that the sunblock is going to irritate his eyes since it’s as gentle as water. The sunblock has three benefits that I love, it’s mild, tear-free and gentle as water. I feel safe applying Aveeno sunblock all over my son’s face and body since it’s free of parabens, phthalates, dyes, fragrances & chemical sunscreen ingredients.
I make sure I protect my skin too. Especially now that I’ve hit 30, I want to make sure I protect my skin from any sun damage. I use the AVEENO® PROTECT + HYDRATE® Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 70 on my face and body. This formula doesn’t wear off with sweat or water (80 minutes). I’m guilty of not using sunscreen every day, but when I am out directly in the sun, especially during summer, I make sure to protect my skin. Whenever I’m out in the pool or ocean my skin is protected as well since my sunblock provides 24-hour skin hydration against chlorine, salt water, and sweat. I purchased our sunscreen from our local CVS and saved $3 with Ibotta. What are your top favorite summer activities to do with your little ones?
