October is one of my favorite months. Not only because of the fall festivities, but also because it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This means that the whole month is dedicated to bringing awareness about the importance of taking steps to detect breast cancer early. Although I have been blessed to not have any women in my family be affected by this condition, I do know a few  women that have, and I know that it can happen to anyone. So as a woman, I understand the importance of bringing awareness. Sometimes we tend to think that certain things won’t happen to us. But breast cancer is something that can happen to anyone! That is why it’s extremely important to follow necessary steps to fight this disease. According to the Breast Cancer Foundation, as a woman, we must have an early detection plan which consists of self-exams, clinical breast exams and mammograms depending on age and health history.

I love companies that support great causes such as Breast Cancer Awareness months and that’s why I love shopping at Macy’s. From October trough October , Macy’s will donate 10% of sale price on items from their Ideology line. I was sent two pieces from this line which came in at a perfect timing. As you know I gave birth to my son almost five months ago and boy has it been tough to get rid of the pregnancy weight. I try to go on walks everyday with my little one, but sometimes there’s just no time. Keep in mind that I work overnight and sometimes the energy is just not there. But I’ve noticed that I look forward to exercising more when I have a cute outfit to do so such as this one.

I can’t reiterate enough the importance of early cancer detection. It can save your life! If you’re unsure about something always reach out to your doctor. I use to be careless about these things, but after seeing how people around me were being affected, I began to perform self exams around that time of month.  How do you show your support to such great cause??? Do you have breast cancer survivor stories? I would love to hear them. Thanks so much for stopping by, xo.
