When it comes to makeup, I love everything except having to clean makeup brushes – mostly because it’s time-consuming. But whether I like it or not, it’s something that must be done. Not only because it’s hygienic, but also because it prevents skin problems such as acne. In the past, I’ve been guilty of not cleaning my makeup brushes as often as I should and boy did it bring problems to my skin. Now I clean my makeup brushes at least once a week. Up until last week, I was still using soap and the palm of my hand to clean my brushes because it’s effective and inexpensive. That’s until I discovered the Brushegg for one dollar!
When I first saw the Brushegg, I thought that it was too small. Thankfully, the size didn’t prevent it from doing its job. To clean my brushes, I first add a little bit of baby soap to the Brushegg, wet the brush and after a few strokes, all makeup residue is removed and my brushes are left clean. It probably takes me between 5-10 minutes to clean all my brushes.
I love that the Brushegg comes in a variety of colors. I chose pink because it’s my favorite color. Also, I love that it’s easy to clean and dry. I’m very happy with my dollar purchase! I have to say that with the Brushegg, I have no need for buying an expensive brush cleaning tool that costs $39. With that being said, I am not saying that purchasing a pricey mitten is not a good idea if you have a large makeup brush collection than it’s probably a good investment for you, but for myself, I think the Brushegg is perfect.
