Motherhood is such a beautiful experience – very rewarding. But let’s be real, there are days when things just don’t seem to be going the right way. Fuzzy toddler, tantrums, forgotten items, you name it! Believe me, there have been days when I’ve had to get away for at least an hour in order to not go crazy. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love being Nathaniel’s mommy, I wouldn’t change it for the world, but mommies need breaks too and there’s nothing wrong with that. Now that Nathaniel is walking, he’s officially a toddler wearing size 4 in Huggies Little Movers Plus. This means that he’s all over the place and exploring every single thing that crosses his path. Out of all the adventures that Nathaniel and I come across, the most difficult is being out all day with him. So by trial and error, I’ve come up with my best tips to have a successful day out with your little one.

Snacks: Whenever I’m out all day with Nathaniel, I always make sure to have snacks for him. As soon as he starts getting fuzzy, I give him something to munch on and he calms down right away. I try to keep his snacks as healthy as possible. I should also mention that it’s important to have enough formula. I know that I have run out of formula in the past and I’ve had to purchase some last minute – not very smart when you have a hungry toddler crying for his milk.

Toys/Music: For Nathaniel, music does wonders more than toys. So, I always make sure to have his playlist ready for when the car ride isn’t going smooth.

Absorbent Diapers: Believe it or not having a super absorbent diaper can make a difference. Sometimes changing his diaper is not possible depending on where we’re at, so having a diaper that I know is super absorbent will prevent from having an uncomfortable toddler. For that reason, I purchase Huggies Little Movers Plus from Costco. During my last trip to Costco, I took advantage of their deal on the Little Movers Plus. The regular price is $42.99, but after a $6 discount, they’re only $36.99 (this offer valid 9/1 –to 9/25).  The Little Snugglers Plus are also on sale (Sizes 1 & 2) – $37.49, $31.49 after $6 discount plus free shipping if ordering online (this offer valid 9/1 to 9/25). As a mother, it’s important to take advantage of every minute. That’s why I love stocking up on diapers during my grocery shopping run to Costco because it’s the only retailer where I get get Huggies PLUS – I get to kill two birds with one stone. By the way! If you’re currently expecting, starting in August Little Snugglers Plus will also be available in the newborn size for $29.99 available in select warehouses and online at Costco.comCOSTCO LITTLE MOVERS PLUS Huggies Little Movers PLUS

Exploring: I try to let Nathaniel just be. I know sometimes it’s a bit hard, but I’ve noticed that the more I try to prevent him from doing certain things, the more upset he gets. So I try to just let him be himself as long as what he wants to do doesn’t hurt him or other children.

Thankfully, Nathaniel does very well when we stay out, of course, he’s not perfect, but as long as I follow these small guidelines, we’re usually good for the day. What are your tips for other mommies?
